We boast a relaxed, positive and encouraging environment to nurture you all the way to your driving test. In addition, we are one of few driving schools that offer a dedicated app where you can book lessons, view feedback, interact and structure your lessons.
Most learners are naturally concerned about the driving test. And, rightly so! Afterall, its the main gate to grabbbing that freedom, that better job, the access to outings or making the food shop easier. However, simply learning to pass isn't enough to stay safe on modern day road networks.
Automatic lessons make learning to drive simpler and less stressful. No gears, no stalling — just smooth progress and faster confidence behind the wheel. Learn in a modern car with a calm, friendly instructor. Let’s get you road-ready, the easy way.

In short, this really depends on you! The DVSA advise that the average is approx 40 hours professional instruction, and 20 hours private practice.

At DMSM, we offer 2 hour driving lessons purely because it is a struggle to really get stuck into topics with only a 1 hour lesson. We can however provide a short break halfway through if 2 hours is a struggle.

In theory yes, because it takes away the gears and the planning surrounding gears. However, you still need to learn your roadcraft and work your way through the rest of the driving syllabus.
Like most industries, we work on supply and demand. It is no secret at present that driving instructors are in huge demand, therefor it doesn't make business sense to be giving discounts.
Yes! We highly encourage you taking regular lessons. This helps build those skills, and take that knowledge learn from your short-term, to your long term memory. With this in mind, we will give you the same day/time slot every week so you know exactly where you are.

Yes we do!

We also run regular theory workshops at our office based in Gainsborough.

Can’t go wrong with Dean. I was very lucky he took me on after deciding to switch from manual to automatic and can say it’s been a lovely experience over the last few months. Very happy with my pass and excited and ready to drive!
Couldn’t recommend Dean Martin enough! The best instructor I’ve ever had, definitely going to miss my Friday afternoon lessons! Thank you so much for being patient with me and having to put up with me for a long time but I can’t wait to start my independent driving!
Very patient instructor, puts you at ease in lessons. You can still have a laugh while learning to drive & Dean has a lot of banter! Didn't go to test with Dean, but passed first time 😁
Brilliant person! couldn't recommend him more. if a lot more instructors were like Dean there would be less idiots on the road 🤣 teaching learners to really drive and not just pass a test.
Would highly recommend this man to anyone who wishes to start learning to drive I was so nervous to do so but only 30 hours of lessons later I passed my test first time with 0 faults.
best driving instructor, super friendly and helped me pass first time with no minors! super patient and really gets into the detail and helps with progress so much. 100% recommend r dean 🙂
